The family is a system in which each family member affects every other family member. Our seasoned family counselors help families to bring out the best in one another, and move the whole family to a better place together. Your family won’t be here with you every day, but they will be engaged in your experience here, getting helpful coaching on improving communication within the family, learning how to support your recovery, and even working on some therapeutic tune-ups for themselves. It’s our goal that your entire family will make progress—together—during your time at Pacific Pathways.
Families are engaged and involved throughout the treatment process with Pacific Pathways. Although parents and siblings won’t be residing here alongside their young adult son, daughter or sibling, you will be able to take part in regular virtual family counseling meetings, multifamily groups, and even some small onsite family meetings for those who live nearby. Of course, our client residents come from around the country (and the world!) so virtual contacts are an integral part of the treatment program. And by the way, our goal is to be as accessible as possible to parents and families during your time working with us. We’re here for you, and we’re here to help.
When one family member is going through difficult times with mental health and/or substance abuse challenges, it can be stressful and scary for the whole family. The Pacific Pathways environment is a safe place for young adults to be as they begin to heal from a time of crisis. You can feel assured that your young adult family member is getting the care they require, and that they are receiving the highest standard of care. We aim to create the experience of a community that promotes emotional healing and growth, and your family is an important part of our community.
Pacific Pathways works with the Mandala Springs Retreat Center in Cobb, CA to offer wellness retreat weekends for our clients, and periodically for families. Most of our family get-togethers during this time will be virtual, but we will continue to have some small group family events (with a high level of infectious risk prevention). We will keep you posted on upcoming family retreat opportunities.
